Meet Dr. Fern

Dr. Steven A. Fern

MD, FACS — Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Steven A. Fern is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been in solo private practice in Greenwich, Connecticut since 1997, with a second office on Manhattan's Upper East Side since 2010. His training spans some of the most respected institutions in medicine — Phillips Academy, Brown University (Magna Cum Laude), and Cornell University Medical College — and his credentials include triple board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons.

Over nearly three decades in private practice, Dr. Fern has built his reputation on a commitment to natural, lasting results and an honest consultative approach. He is equally known for the complexity of cases he accepts — including revision rhinoplasty, breast reconstruction, and complex body contouring after massive weight loss — as for the care he brings to every procedure.

Beyond his private practice, Dr. Fern performs pro bono plastic surgery and has participated in cleft lip and palate surgical missions through the Save Our Smile organization — bringing reconstructive care to patients who could not otherwise access it.

Philosophy

"The best result is the one that looks like it wasn't done."

Dr. Fern has built a practice on one principle: every result must look natural. His approach to facial surgery, in particular, is distinguished by restraint — doing precisely what the anatomy requires, and no more.

Patients consistently describe their results not as "I had work done" but as "I look like myself, but better." That is the goal of every procedure Dr. Fern performs.

Pro Bono Commitment

Dr. Fern regularly performs pro bono plastic surgery for patients who could not otherwise afford care. He has participated in international surgical missions for cleft lip and palate repair through the Save Our Smile organization.
